Commercial Recycling Information

We have two main recycling programs that are available to all of our commercial customers. Both services are available to our customers without any additional charges. In fact, many businesses have been able to downsize their garbage service resulting in a lower bill after adding or expanding recycling. If you are interested in adding either one or both of the services that are detailed below, you can contact our office and we will have your additional container(s) delivered.

 

Commercial Commingled Recycling Program

               

Participating in this program is a great way to recycle all of your businesses recyclable waste in a single container. All of the recycable materials are simply mixed in the bin so no sorting needs to be done by your employees. We have many container sizes available from a small 96 gallon recycling cart for small businesses or locations with limited space to large 3 and 4 yard recycling bins for locations with a large amount of commingled recycling material (6 yard bins available for locations with excessive amounts of material). Also, we can arrange for multiple pickups per week at most locations.

 

In addition to the cart/bin(s) that we will deliver for outside of your business we have small blue Rubbermaid cans for use at your employees’ desks or any location inside your business that would be a convenient place to discard recyclables. These containers are provided free of charge by the San Luis Obispo Integrated Waste Management Authority (IWMA).

 

This is a sample of the materials that can be discarded in the commingled recycling bin: office paper, plastic, metal items, cans, bottles, glass, boxes, packaging (except styrofoam), envelopes, magazines, newspaper. Source Segregated Cardboard Recycling

 

Businesses that have a large amount of clean cardboard can take advantage of our cardboard recycling program. The cardboard must be segregated from any other recyclable material prior to being placed in the bin. If your business is throwing away a large amount of cardboard, this service would be great for you. Keep in mind that this service can be combined with the commingled service if you have other recyclable items.
